"To not be able to join up different worlds, still one does – yet does not something break inside? ... I translate with the camera, paper and glitter – in the double-exposed images there is a first layer from a Japanese park originally dating from 1620: Shukkeien, Hiroshima. I have visited the park four times since 2005 – and returned home with undeveloped rolls of films that have been stored in my fridge. Then a second layer has been added, exposed on my table top in Aspudden. The images are impossible, yet they do exist. Two worlds merge in one – the historic, catastrophic and the small, private - and a unique image space emerges in the light-sensitive emulsion...” (About 25 images in the series.)
